    This week, Reception have been looking at Lilian Bader for black history month. To celebrate her determination and achievement in working for the RAF, the class painted their own planes, and we composed a poem together. We have also been reading a lot as we do every week.     This week, reception has been collaborating and working together, doing lots of building.  They worked on the letters l, b, f and reviewed their phonics for this term.  We have also been looking at different jobs people do.

    This week in Reception we have had lots of fun in forest school finding autumn leaves and making necklaces with them. We discussed the different seasons and the nature we found. We have also been exploring the number four, it's different shapes and how to describe.

    This week, Reception practised their counting skills and sequencing of numbers.  They also made playdough animals, which helps to improve their fine motor skills. Mr Bray read them a story called 'The Rainbow Fish' and they created colourful rainbow fish, based on the story.

    In Reception this week we have been getting used to our routines and learning through: play, focused activities led by teachers and TAs and teacher led carpet time.  The children loved getting to know their classroom and playground.
