18th October 2024

This week, the children have been learning about the word 'protest', and in art, we have looked at a famous picture of the 1963 march. This is amongst one of the most famous protests in U.S. history.  The main goal of the protest was to show the public how many people supported racial equality.  The day is perhaps most remembered for the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech.  We used the image to inspire our own artworks.

In maths, we have been using our number bonds to 10 to help with our number bonds to 100.  In English, we have been looking at the key features of a traditional tale and, to enhance our vocabulary, we have been using dictionaries to find the meaning of new words from our key text.  This included roams, devious and harsh.  Ask your children to tell you a sentence using one of these words!
