Today, Year 4 visited Dulwich College to see the James Caird lifeboat. This is the craft that Ernest Shackleton and five other crew members sailed in for 800 miles, from Elephant Island to South Georgia, to get help to rescue the remaining 22 stranded members of their stricken expedition across Antarctica.

The children also had a bit of time in Dulwich Park before the rain came down, and we had to go back to school!
