St Joseph's Day Celebrations

Today is a very special day for our school

Today we celebrated St. Joseph’s Day with an exciting and special visit from the Mayor of Greenwich, Councillor Jit Ranabhat! The day kicked off with a whole-school mass at the church, where parents from our community joined us in reflection and joy. The priest delivered an inspiring message about the significance of St. Joseph and the important role he played in raising Jesus. He also praised our wonderful teachers and staff for their dedication to shaping the lives of our pupils.

After the service, the Mayor, along with parishioners, parents, and governors, gathered at the school for some delicious refreshments. It was the perfect opportunity to engage with the Mayor and discuss our local community. The celebration continued with an amazing performance by the St. Joseph’s School Choir. Their beautiful singing left everyone in awe, and the Mayor was particularly impressed by their talent!

Our fantastic Head Boy and Head Girl then led the Mayor on a tour of the school, introducing him to each class and showcasing the incredible work our pupils are doing in their classrooms. It was a proud moment for our school community.

Next, the Mayor joined our School Parliament for an engaging Q&A session. The pupils had some great questions, including "What’s the best thing about Greenwich?" The Mayor eagerly responded, "...The diversity in our community," sparking a lively discussion. So inspired by the conversation, the Mayor invited our school councillors to visit him at Greenwich Town Hall to continue the dialogue and discuss important local topics.

Before leaving, the Mayor expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the staff and governors for their hospitality. He especially took the time to praise our pupils, leaving them with an encouraging message: "God has given you the assignment and the tools you need to succeed and the skills to make the world a better place." It was a memorable and inspiring day for everyone involved!
