Overseas visitors spend the week at STJ

Chinese experience a week in a British school

This week, we arranged for 7 students to visit us all the way from China.  They wanted to see and experience what it was like to attend a British primary school.

After arriving, the six older children were placed in Years 5 & 6, and our youngest student spent the week in Year 1 with Miss Francis.

They slotted in really well and took part in lessons with the class.  They had lunch with the children and went out to play in the playground.  We invited them to stay for our Table Tennis after-school club with Mr TJ, and we celebrated Chinese New Year on Wednesday, making lanterns with Year 5.  Lily, in Year 1, had a great time taking part in phonics lessons and playing with her new friends.

We presented each of them with a certificate and a goodie bag to say thank you for spending the week with us.  It’s been great having them.  We wish them a safe journey back to China this weekend and hope to see them again soon.
