It’s Science Week this week and the children in Year 4 learnt about “self-healing” concrete! Using plaster of Paris and bicarbonate of soda, a mixture was made and left to dry. A crack was then made before the model was fully dry. Then, a spray of vinegar on the crack made the baking soda react and bubbles could be seen! This started to fill the crack - just like self healing concrete.
