Personal Statement
I am delighted to be involved with the Governance of St Joseph’s Catholic Primary, working alongside other governors and school staff. We are all totally committed to providing the best possible education for each and every child in the school within the teachings of Christ, work which we undertake in partnership with parents and carers.

My background involves a number of years of senior management experience in the education sector from Early Years right through to Sixth Form. Prior to this I worked in the IT industry for 13 years.

As Chair of the Resources Committee I endeavour to make sure that the school’s finances are stable and sufficient to meet the challenges ahead.

Personal Statement
I wanted to become a parent governor because I wanted to be involved in my child’s education, I believe that every child deserves a good education and every child matters.
As a parent governor I will endeavour to approach every issue I face with the question, what do I as a parent think about this? And what would other parents think about this?
My objective is to work in partnership with the senior leadership team to collectively improve and raise standards for our children.

I have now retired from a career in education. My final post was as head of a primary school much the same size as St Joseph’s. It is a great privilege to be a Foundation Governor of this lovely school. I hope that my past experience will enable me to support the head and staff to continue to develop its collegiate and spiritual ethos. I have always been keen to see children fully develop their potential. This can take many paths but we must never forget the importance of academic achievement in enabling them to participate in the modern world. I have always had a particular interest in the teaching of reading without which children cannot make good progress across all subjects. It has, therefore, been a great pleasure to be able to volunteer to read with children in the school.

Having worked at St Joseph’s for over 19 years I am proud to represent the members of staff on the governing body. I feel I can ably offer a staff viewpoint and perspective to discussion and debate. As part of the Senior Leadership team my work is at the heart of making decisions that impact on the education and progression of each child. I believe that all children should be able to meet their potential and this drives me to continually work hard and find ways to enable progression to constantly move forwards. My own passion for reading and books inspires me to share this gift with others.

I have retired from a career in nursing. I have lived in Greenwich all my married life where we have brought up two children who now have their own children. Two of our grandchildren are of primary school age. I recognise the importance of education: academic, emotional and spiritual. I was therefore pleased to be asked to become a governor of St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.
As a governor I bring my knowledge and experience of nursing in which everything is centred on the patient. This attitude is transferable to education where the pupil is central to everything. Thus I believe my skills will be useful as I support the head teacher and her team.”

Personal Statement
Six years ago, my son began his Primary Education at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Primary School, Greenwich. Two years later, his sister joined him.
I am a mother of three young children. Two are currently at St. Joseph’s. My son is in Year 5 and my daughter is in Year 3. I became actively involved in St. Joseph’s since July 2016.
As a Foundation Governor, my aims and objectives are to establish a great stimulating relationship and an enabling environment between St. Joseph’s School, Staff, Church, Parents and Pupils. I want all to be happy, confident and to be the best that they can be. I want to support St. Joseph’s to its fullest potential. I would love to assist the existing Governors for the growth of St. Joseph’s. Every pupil ought to be given the best educational start as, “Every Child Matters”.
My duties are to serve the School, Pupils and Parents to the best of my knowledge. To promote high standards of educational achievements at St. Joseph’s. To attentively listen and to represent the voices of parents, staff and pupils. To enable each child to develop to their fullest potential in a caring Christian environment that bonds the home, school and community together.
I am grateful to the parents that nominated me and equally grateful to Father Kevin Robinson and Sister Mary Selvaraifsm for recommending me for this position. Thanks for giving me this great opportunity to help develop St Joseph’s.
So help me Dear Lord. Amen.

I have been involved within St Joseph’s since September 2013 when my son joined the Reception class. I now have three children who attend the school, in Reception, Year 2, and Year 3. When I moved to the area I viewed all the local schools, but St. Joseph’s was the best for me. I liked the fact that it was a small school with a sense of community with good, Christian values. I had previously been a parent governor at my children’s nursery and when they had all left I wanted to continue to be able to make an impact on their education, as well as that of the other students at St Joseph’s.

As a Parent Governor, my aims and objectives are to establish a positive relationship between the parents and the school. I feel it is my role to be the voice of the parents, and raise any concerns they have with the governing body.
