It may  be Valentine's Day today, but it is also Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, a 40 day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving that ends at sundown on Holy Thursday. It's a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord's Resurrection at Easter.

Mass was celebrated at St Joseph's Church and our pupils recieved the ashes on their forehead.

We've yet to find out what they've gven up for Lent!
